In the best interest of all our guests, an up-to-date vaccination record is required before admission. Vaccination records can be emailed to farmsteadkennelsmd@hotmail.com prior to your arrival.
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS: ALL pets must be current on Distemper/Parvovirus, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations throughout the entire duration of their scheduled reservation. Additionally, ALL vaccinations must have been administered at least 14 days prior to drop off date. Any pets vaccinated within the 14 days prior to drop off date will be ineligible to stay, regardless of reservation.
As of August 1st 2017, we will no longer be accepting/recognizing any vaccinations given by the pet(s) owner(s). We will only recognize those administered by a licensed veterinarian with proper documentation. Please note that these changes have been put in place to better protect your pet and the pets of other families. The safety, health and comfort of your pets are our top priority.

REQUIRED VACCINATIONS
Dogs

- Rabies

Rabies is a viral infection of animals that can be transmitted to humans. It is caused by a virus of the Rhabdoviridae family, which attacks the central nervous system. The virus is usually excreted in the saliva of an infected animal. Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms or signs appear.

- Distemper (DHLP)

Canine distemper is a contagious, incurable, often fatal, multisystemic viral disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and central nervous systems. Distemper is caused by the canine distemper virus (CDV).

- Bordetella

Kennel Cough (ITB-Infectious Tracheo-Bronchitis) is the most common respiratory disease of dogs. Like the common cold in humans, the organisms that cause kennel cough are airborne. Your dog can catch this debilitating, persistent disease simply by being close to other infected dogs. It can also be spread by human handling, through cages, and food and water bowls. That's why it is so common wherever dogs are housed or confined together.
